September 3rd news, San Francisco local time on Friday, the semiconductor industry association (SIA) said that in July the global semiconductor chip sales reached $20 billion 100 million, representing a growth of 11.5%, compared with June growth rate of 1.8%.
SIA President George said, in 2006 the global semiconductor industry sales will exceed $240 billion, a new record. Many end markets and regions will show strong growth, especially in the Asia Pacific region and the United States, the two growth rate will reach 13% and 18%, respectively.
George said, the first half of this year, the equipment operating rate increased slightly, increased from 89% to 91%.
George pointed out that July sales reflect the industry sales growth and the average price decline in the history of pattern.
