Kyushu optoelectronics to participate in the trial of the Hongkong Metro LED lighting project

Each lighting device is made up of 64 separate high brightness LED chips, which are installed on the three MTR trains. The first train starts running at Line Wan (Tsuen). Another two trains will run in June 2009.

Jiuzhou optoelectronics Co. Ltd. undertakes most of the project work, including detailed project plan, thermal and optical design, LED design, lighting device, anti vibration design of LED driving circuit design, including the installation of LED device on the train.

In the MTR Rainbow Station (Choi Hung Station) test, the lighting technology has been able to achieve daily lighting. Installation work is expected to be completed in August 2009.

It is estimated that, compared with the traditional fluorescent lamp, the new high brightness LED lamp consumes less than 30%, and the service life of up to 50000 hours, is the traditional fluorescent lamp 3 times, thus reducing the waste.
