L released the first integrated 3A boost power switch 10 channel white LED driver SC442

Semtech (Semtech) days before the launch of the first 10 channel LED driver SC442 can integrate 3A boost power switch. SC442 is an extension of the SC44x series LED driver, is a lead free halogen free products, fully in line with the requirements of RoHS, suitable for large LCD backlight applications.

The LED driver using ultra small thin 4x4x0.6mm 28 pin MLPQ package, can drive up to 120 LED per channel, current up to 30mA. Input voltage range of 4.5V~21V, the use of lithium ion batteries or 5V, 12V or 18V power supply. SC442 maximum output 42V, drive up to 12 white light per channel LED. Component compatible with boost or SEPIC (boost / Buck) topology.

In addition, when the input voltage is greater than the output voltage, it can be seamlessly converted to bypass or linear mode. The synchronization function can eliminate the intermodulation noise in the backlight system with multiple actuators. Other features include overheating, overload, LED open circuit protection, and set the LED short-circuit protection.

Up to 50kHz PWM dimming method eliminates the audio noise problem. The internal DC-DC current mode controller dynamically maintains the optimal LED output voltage. For smaller panel designs, each channel can also be independently turned off.

The driver provides LED open circuit protection, LED short circuit protection, and over temperature protection. The switching frequency of the controller can be set between 200kHz and 1MHz in order to get the best efficiency and L/C filter size.
