To solve these problems, Tyco Electronics developed a series of high-speed surface mount (SMT) solid-state lighting line on board, board to board connector, the shell is made of high temperature plastic, with LED lighting module manufacturing reflow process commonly used, connectors and LED go into surface mount. SMT and the hole plug connector (Figure 1), whether ordinary or plastic resin plate, aluminum plate, can provide fast and reliable cable termination, this small size low height SMT and a two connector, very suitable for the application of LED lamp, lighting controller and other interconnection using plug-in wiring. The connector conforms to the RoHS specification, terminals with copper alloy, nickel layer as the bottom plating, tin surface, the shell is made of high temperature plastic, flame retardant grade reaches UL94-V0. Although the plug-in LED connector is most suitable for 18AWG 6~16 core twisted wire, can also be used for the 18~22AWG of the solid wire and 18~20AWG pre bonding multi strand wire.

The plate end connector can be used not only for plate to plate, but also for wire to plate connection. The advantage of the non-polar design is that the user only needs to store a product of the board end application, which reduces the complexity of the inventory. Because the design of the plate end is designed into the same structure, the design is simplified. The packaging of the terminal winding mode is convenient for the operation of the high-speed terminal equipment.
