LED market will decline by 41%

Market research company Strategy Analytics said in 2009 (LCD) for mobile phone LCD and keyboard backlight LED sales will drop 41%. Strategy Analytics in its latest market research report warned that a higher brightness LED and a higher efficiency of the introduction of the backlight program, LCD and keyboard backlight will reduce the average amount of LED. Coupled with the decline in the average sales price of these two areas, so that the sales of LED from these two markets tend to decline.

But strong sales growth in the emerging field of camera flash, will offset the disadvantageous factors. By 2009, the camera flash function will contribute 36% of the total sales of the mobile phone market LED.

"Market leading manufacturers now need to be adjusted to meet the market demand change is happening." Strategy Analytics GaAs business executives Asif Anwar said. "The market requirements of camera flash function used by LED with high brightness, high efficiency and proper thermal management function, this is a huge challenge, but it represents a compound annual growth rate before 2009 will be as high as 87% of the market."
