Melexis car LED driver low cost temperature compensation

Germany Melexis company announced the launch of the LED drive before the new series MLX10803, allegedly were optimized in terms of performance, flexibility, durability and cost for automotive interior and exterior applications, and large quantities of single or power LED array applications, these applications require the system cost as low as possible to realize temperature compensation, low noise and high efficiency.

According to reports, MLX10803 has better adaptability, compared with existing solutions, it allows special protection and intelligent features. It contains a number of reference inputs, designed for external sensor temperature compensation, so as to ensure continuous light output or luminosity, as well as the protection of two LED and the surrounding circuit to prevent overheating. Typically, the MLX10803 operates from 6V to 32V DC supply. Only a few external components can be added to allow the IC to operate at 115V or 220V, 50 or 60 weeks. With the help of a few external discrete power devices, it can drive an infinite number of power densities in the range of 1 to 1000W LED.

MLX10803 provides better performance in terms of temperature compensation and intelligence, such as reducing the brightness and soft start time. Typical efficiencies vary between 70% and LED array applications for a single LED application by more than 95%. Melexis LED drive IC meets ISO/TS16949 automotive standards. Module EMI behavior has been optimized by random switching frequency, unloading protection up to 80V, operating temperature range of -40 DEG C to 125 C.
