Micron and Intel joint venture to set up a company to pay apple

IM will be located in Boise, Idaho, Manassas, Utah, Virginia, Lehi in the Micron chip factory production of flash memory chips. Intel, Micron has reached an agreement with apple to provide flash memory chips, as part of the agreement, apple agreed to pay $250 million to Intel and Micron.

10-Q documents show that Intel has invested $1 billion 196 million in IM, Micron has $995 million in the second quarter of 2006, and plans to inject $250 million. The document also pointed out that in the joint venture transaction at the same time, Micron NAND flash memory chip design technology and the existing sales to Intel for $270 million, and the acquisition of permanent license to use or modify these designs. Micron can also continue to develop flash technology.
