Motorola investment Israel chip company, optimistic about the home network market

CopperGate Communications of Israel made a strategic investment in the investment department of Motorola Motorola Ventures days ago. CopperGate is a provider of solutions for multimedia home networks. The investment is part of the total funding of $14 million 500 thousand.

"CopperGate technology provides an attractive way to seamlessly distribute IP video content in a home using existing cables." Motorola Ventures general manager Matthew Growney said in a statement, CopperGate products and Motorola to provide customers with a variety of home media network solutions complementary strategies."

Motorola has been trying to enter the home network market. The company in August 2005 for strategic investment in Intellon Corp. Intellon Corp. provides HomePlug compatible IC, for home networking, network entertainment and connecting power lines and other applications.
