NAND flash MB shipments doubled 08 year market $36 billion 100 million

Market research company Semico Research pointed out that the 2008 NAND flash memory market is expected to grow to $36 billion 100 million, then the price began to fall in 2009.

"During the forecast period, in megabytes (Megabyte) shipments growth rate will reach an average of 129%." Semico Handy, director of nonvolatile memory operations, said Jim. "With the growth rate of 100%, the industry's annual shipments exceeded the previous total shipments. In fact, in 2004 the NAND flash megabyte shipments higher than DRAM shipments throughout the year in 90s."

Semico company said, veteran NAND flash suppliers include: Samsung (Samsung), Toshiba, SanDisk, Renesas Technology (Renesas) and M-Systems. New suppliers include: Hynix, STMicroelectronics (STMicroelectronics) (Micron Technology), micron and Infineon (Infineon). Affected by the market impact of the manufacturers have a memory card supplier such as Lexar Media, Kingston: Viking, Technologies; camera manufacturers, including Nikon (Nikon), Olympus, Kodak (Kodak), Canon (Canon) and Fuji film (Fuji Film); MP3 player suppliers, including: Apple Computer (Apple), technology innovation (Creative) and SONY (Sony) etc..
