National Semiconductor plans to close the Singapore chip processing plant

July 14th news in order to save money, National Semiconductor Corporation Ns (National Semiconductor Corp.) plans to close a factory which is located in the chip of Singapore, 950 employees will face unemployment. The company since early March this year on trying to find a buyer for the factory, but finally decided to close it down, and the related production activities transferred to Malaysia and Chinese chip processing factory.

According to national semiconductor, take about a year to close the factory, but it did not give a specific date. The resulting costs $27 million - 3000 million dollars. The company expects to close the plant will eventually save $6 million per quarter.
