Companies and consumers associated with sub Saharan Africa's off grid lighting market find that funding related issues are often the biggest obstacle in the supply chain. "Lighting Africa" to realize the importance of money in the project, and are trying to find out the financing needs of stakeholders, the latest development and notify the relevant solutions and appropriate financial products to the market of project members.
Now, "lighting Africa" is working to develop financing information, products and services including:
1 study the demand and potential market for financial products in the market, obtain a clear market, and share the relevant information on the basis of financing partners.
2 develop credit lines to support local supply chain financing based on local financial partners. To help and support the supply chain in the African market to achieve business financing through the design and implementation of the funding scheme.
3 provide equity financing, to support enterprises to provide modern off grid lighting; or through direct financing, commercial seed capital or equity, so that enterprises can production, sales or financial modern off grid lighting products, to achieve innovation and expand the market business model.
4 develop and implement trade finance fund to support the import of modern lighting products or components. The trade finance mechanism for the development and operation of the African market will support exporters and exporters in the provision of modern lighting products and components.
5 to provide research opportunities to enable companies to obtain carbon credits through voluntary and compliance carbon market plans. To develop a method for South Africa in the Sahara and the way of low cost and high efficiency to obtain carbon credits, to reduce carbon dioxide emissions for the purpose of using modern lighting (especially light emitting diode) to replace fuel based lighting (e.g., kerosene, candles).
6 provide funding for innovative lighting products and delivery services. By illuminating 07~08 years of development in Africa market competition, we are funding for the 16 winners of the initial stage of innovation; innovation is the lighting project for Sub Saharan Africa to establish sustainable non fossil fuel based.
