"New light emitting diode" to the goal of a stable pure white light

A new study scientists in India, developed a new type of light emitting diode can stably emit pure white light (LED). This outcome is expected to have a significant impact on the control of the industry, and ultimately allow pure white LED into millions of households. Related papers published in the 2007 issue of the American Chemical Society Journal of physical chemistry C (The Journal of Physical Chemistry) on.

W-led to really apply to the daily life, more bright, durable and high efficiency is that scientists must face and solve problems. Only in this way, LEDs are expected to eventually replace incandescent and fluorescent lamps. However, so far, scientists have not yet developed to meet these requirements of white light diodes, white light is often mixed with mottled, but not stable.

In the new study, India College of Science (Indian Institute of Science D. D. Sarma) and Angshuman Nag by cadmium sulfide formation of Mn doped semiconductor nanocrystals produced a new fluorescent powder (phosphor). It can make a stable and lasting white light emitting diode, performance and performance are more than the previous generation of white light diodes.

Researchers are currently working to enhance the luminous efficiency of white light diode, in order to achieve the daily application.
