Nichia sued Harvatek LED patent infringement

Nichia Corporation of Japan announced on its website has been to the Taiwan Harvatek company sent a letter infringement warning letter. Harvatek company registered the patent of surface mount LED LCD backlight, such as patent No. 140142 in Taiwan, the United States and Japan's JP3128064 US6365922131. Taiwan LED manufacturers are currently committed to the use of portable devices LED and plans to expand its surface mounted LED production capacity to reach 333 million units this year. Harvatek is currently close to half of LED orders for portable applications from Avago, which recently announced a licensing agreement with OSRAM to reach a cross white LED. Avago based on OSRAM's patent sales of white LED, Harvatek is expected to have a good opportunity to obtain white LED orders from Avago.
