Nichia to white LED patent infringement against Seoul semiconductor

Nichia chemical industries in May 13, 2008 to the company on grounds of patent infringement, in England against Seoul semiconductor (Seoul Semiconductor) and the British Avnet EMG.

Nichia chemical industry believes that Seoul semiconductor manufacturing "Acriche" series of white LED product infringes Nichia chemical industries of the patent, asking them to stop infringement and compensate for the losses. Nichia said, Avnet EMG is currently the UK sales of semiconductor products in Seoul.

Nichia chemical industry believes that there are two patents have been violated, namely the European Patent No. EP (UK) 599224 and EP (UK) 622858".

In addition, prior to Nichia chemical industries also in the United States, Japan, South Korea sued the Seoul semiconductor, asking them to stop infringement and compensate for the losses. The two parties are still in dispute.
