Nichia won the first trial, billion light refuses to accept the appeal

China Taiwan Banciao District Court of Japan Nichia in October 16, 2007 (Nichia) sued photoelectron billion (Everlight) products (including three LED products, the production models were 99-215 UWC/TR8, 99-115 UWC/XXX/TR8 and 99-115 UTC/710/TR8) against the new pattern patent case (b patent No. 089036). The judgment of first instance against the photoelectron billion, billion light and its legal representative therefore will jointly xiangriya pay 8000 million NT dollars ($2 million 500 thousand) in damages. In April 25, 2006 against Nichia billion light three LED products for patent infringement and seek compensation, now finally won the favorable ruling. Of the ruling, said its legitimacy Nichia proved Nichia exercise of patent rights, and will continue to take appropriate measures to protect its intellectual property rights in the global scope. They believe their products and billion light did not cause infringement of Nichia patent, in after receiving the verdict, billion light will immediately appeal to the high court of Taiwan. Billion light involved in the case of the three LED products have ceased production in 2006, so the verdict does not affect any of the business.
