Novel multifunctional LED high current charge pump

AnalogicTech released a large current high efficiency charge pump for multifunctional LED applications AAT3174. The new device allows the designer to control the LED by using a simple serial control TM (S2CwireTM) interface of the AnalogicTech or the RSET reset pin, which greatly simplifies the application design of flash and continuous mode. This unique performance allows designers to use an external resistor to achieve up to 800mA of current. Serial bus provides a powerful tool for driving LED, but it still requires designers to spend time learning how to program and develop solutions. To quickly and easily develop a solution that supports both flash and continuous mode operation, the AAT3174 can be run in two modes by a simple on / off trigger switch. By using a combination of 1X, 1.5X and 2X three mode charge pump and internal detection circuit, the AAT3174 helps to maximize power efficiency in a wide range of flare modes. This allows the AAT3174 to provide higher efficiency than the simple double voltage (2X) charge pump.

For portable applications with a small footprint, the AAT3174 requires only 4 external capacitors (1F and VOU on the VIN with two clamping capacitors and two small bypass capacitors) and a maximum regulated output current resistor. The device also provides a wide range of protection circuits, including the protection of AAT3174 thermal management system in the case of short circuit output pins. In addition, it also integrates the soft start circuit, through the disconnection of the load and the VIN connection, the quiescent current is reduced to less than 1A, protect the device from the start of the process of excessive inrush current. Specified operating temperature range of -40 degrees to +85 degrees, the AAT3174 offers a lead-free 12 pin 3x3mm TDFN package. 1000 pieces of the unit price of $1.82.
