PHILPS 592 million acquisition of LED manufacturers

PHILPS recently announced that it would acquire a purchase price of 592 million euros in Boston professional LED (next generation light source manufacturer Color Kinetics). The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2007. PHILPS lighting CEO Theo van Deursen said the move will enable PHILPS to become the leader in the rapid growth of solid-state lighting business.

LED technology products related to landscape lighting, display etc.. It is understood that the future of the new company will increase investment in the development of the core technology of intelligent LED lighting applications, to improve the traditional sense of lighting solutions.
