According to the Taiwan branch of PHILPS news, PHILPS lighting is expected to be in mass production after the LED lighting production outsourcing to Taiwan manufacturers.
PHILPS pointed out that the company plans next month at the beginning of the world's first synchronized 4W and 7W LED lights, in the next two to three years to replace sub-40W incandescent and compact fluorescent lamp. Once PHILPS starts to produce this kind of light, it is likely that the company will outsource production to LED manufacturers in Asia, especially in Taiwan, in order to reduce production costs. PHILPS revealed that Taiwan and 3 to 4 top LED suppliers to maintain contact.
PHILPS said, 4W and 6W light legend because of good heat dissipation design, their service life is 35000 to 40000 hours, reliable quality. Holland manufacturers intend to introduce these products to replace 60W and 80W fluorescent lamps. However, the upcoming LED lights are more expensive, the retail price is 3000 NT dollars (about $96 contract). Taking into account the problems of energy conservation, the company will be the first target in the five star hotel lights.
In order to promote the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and electricity consumption, China's Taiwan region plans to clean up the fluorescent lamp 4 years later, with energy-saving lamps (including LED lights) replaced. At present, Taiwan has more than 22 million of the fluorescent lamp is still in use, the annual consumption of nearly 1 billion 80 million kilowatts of electricity per hour. It is expected that these high energy lights can be cleared from the island after a year to save 800 million kilowatt hours of electricity. PHILPS forecast LED lights will seize 5% of the global market share in the next two or three years, the current proportion of 1%. China's lighting market in Taiwan is expected to be 15 billion NT per year, with a total of NT $5 billion (equivalent to approximately $161 million) generated by the light source sales, and NT $10 billion ($322 million) from the lamp sales. LED lamp currently accounts for only 5% of the Taiwan market.
