Philips Lumileds Singapore built LED manufacturing plant

November 29, 2007, according to ChannEL News Daily Singapore reported that Philips LumiLEDs announced its opening in Singapore's Luxeon LED plant. Singapore Philips Electronics Peeters CEO-Paul, said the plant is PHILPS's first chip production plant outside Silicon Valley, but also the company's first high-power LED production plant in asia.

Peeters commented that Singapore has established a good foundation for the industry to provide the company with the necessary talent pool and vendor support network, so that the factory can be successfully completed.
