Semiconductor materials for LED will have a strong internal reflection effect, LED luminous efficiency, easy to cause overheating and short life problems. Professor of physics in the Department of the development of new technologies can make LED light 4 times, and reduce production costs.
Professor Wang Fujun, Professor of physics at large, pointed out that although LED is relatively durable but expensive, there are still technical problems to be solved. For example, he pointed out that the production of LED semiconductor materials will produce a strong internal total reflection, resulting in the loss of most of the light, affecting the effectiveness of LED.
Wang Fujun and his senior research assistant Xu Guanzhong proposed, in the surface of a semiconductor material LED, plus a layer of nano metal film, and engraved plasmon crystal, will lead out originally internal reflection light waste. The luminous efficiency of the weakest green LED as an example, the use of new technology to the light brightness can be increased by 4 times. In addition, the plasma crystal can be replaced by metal, used as the transmission current, help reduce production costs.
