Renesas listed built-in dimming function and packaging area reduction of 40% LED driver control IC

The product is mainly for LED lighting appliances.

Renesas said that the new product is a buck DC-DC converter using LED driver control IC. The switch element is not integrated, so it is required to be equipped with an external device. LED supply current error is only 6%, while the company's original product is 15%. By reducing the feedback control voltage of the DC-DC converter from +0.6V to +0.2V, the current error is reduced by about 60%. In addition, the built-in power factor correction (PFC) function, over current limiting function and zero current detection function, etc.. The maximum supply voltage is +24V, using 8 terminal SOP package, the temperature range of the working joint is -40 ~ +150.

In addition, Renesas is also equipped with the listing of IC LED control circuit board R2A20135EVB-ND1". The board area is 33.5mm * 3.6mm, support the "E26" type LED bulb, the AC input voltage is 90 ~ 132V, the output voltage is +40V, output current is 200mA, dimming range (trailing dimming rate) is 4 ~ 100%, the conversion efficiency is about 85% and the power factor is about 0.9, the total harmonic distortion (THD) is about 20%.

The IC will be available from the beginning of March 2012 samples, sample price of 40 yen per. Production is scheduled to start in June 2012, plans to increase the scale of production after December 2012 to 5 million monthly production.
