Roman Haas mergers and acquisitions of South Korean companies to expand OLED material business

Roman Haas (Rohm and Haas) announced the acquisition of South Korea's organic light-emitting diode (OLED) R & D and manufacturing leader GracEL Display, through mergers and acquisitions Gracel and OLED materials technology, to expand its display technology business sector. The transaction of about $40 million, Jean Roman Haas will obtain more than half of Gracel's equity.

The company said that advanced OLED technology provides many performance advantages, can improve the brightness, clarity and efficiency of flat panel display. OLED power consumption is much lower than traditional display technology (for portable devices is an important factor), and provide more high brightness and contrast, create super clear image, wide viewing angle, and slim design. OLED technology has attracted a lot of attention recently, and appears in more and more products, the use of OLED development of the display, in the next ten years there will be substantial growth.

Roman Haas said, OLED is an important new member of the Roman Haas display material. In the company's 2010 vision plan, Rohm and Haas accelerate the development of various investment platforms, including electronic materials.
