SDK introduced potassium nitride near UV and green LED chip

Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) recently launched a potassium nitride (gallium-nitride) near UV and green LED chip, can be used for large size LCD screen white light and backlight illumination respectively. These two LED chips will be held November 15th to 18 at the Tokyo Big SightInchem held in Tokyo exhibition debut in Tokyo.

GaN blue LED technology has been commercialized based on SDK developed flip chip structure near UV LED, its power is up to 14W, the wavelength is about 400nm. The power level is sufficient for conventional lighting of highly efficient phosphorescent materials.

This product also adopts the ultraviolet LED epitaxial wafer (Epitaxial Wafer) technology to improve the conversion efficiency. At the same time, the use of a green GaNLED (face-up) structure, its brightness is much higher than the current similar products, the LED provides 505nm, 6.5mW (400mcd, blue-green) and 525nm, 6mW (500mcd) two models.

According to SDK said the company will also manufacture the wavelength of 555nm pure green LED, these products have been made by electrode conditions, the crystallization of new development as well as all of the above patent blue LED possible.
