In September 8, 2008, Andy, a consumer electronics manager at Samsung UK, said the future of Blu ray technology was short-lived. Griffiths. In five years, Blu ray technology will be replaced by a new technology. I think Blu ray has five years left, and I'm not going to give it for about ten years.
Griffiths believes that 2008 will be the heyday of Blu ray format. Blu ray format products will grow substantially. We currently have a large number of orders. Blu ray format will be a short term winner due to only one option left after the transition to cheaper players and the Blu ray format between HD and DVD.
Griffiths said Samsung hopes to own OLED HD technology. The new technology is nearing completion. However, due to the high cost of production postponed. We will launch this OLED HD technology when prices are attractive to consumers. Unfortunately, this time has not yet come.
Griffiths predicts that by 2010, OLED technology will become mainstream and will replace LCD technology. This is a big event. But, at the moment, it's a good story, not a commercial product.
Samsung earlier this month held in Germany IFA exhibition launched two OLED TV screen, the screen size is bigger than SONY. One of the two OLED TV sets is 14 inches and the other is an inch of 31 inches. The display is very thin, with vivid contrast and color. The size of SONY's two OLED TVs is 9 inches and 27 inches.
Griffiths believes that the future of full high-definition coming soon. In 2012, we will enter the era of full hd. In his view, this full HD era may not include Blu ray technology.
