Samsung plans to increase flash production by 140% in

In order to maintain its leading position in the field of flash, South Korea's Samsung Electronics (Samsung Electronics) plans in 2005 to the overall production to improve the calculation of flash bit 140%.

Samsung is also preparing to launch a monolithic 4-gigabit NAND flash memory device in 2005, launched 8-Gbit flash in 2006. The company recently introduced its 8-Gbit 63 NAND flash memory based on nanotechnology.

Samsung's U.S. subsidiary of Samsung Semiconductor (Samsung Semiconductor Inc.) senior vice president Tom Quinn said the measures of memory, in order to maintain the leading position in the Samsung NAND and the flash in the market.

Samsung also produces NAND and NOR flash memory, is the world's largest NAND supplier. Quinn said that despite the current downturn in the market, but the demand for flash memory has not weakened. He pointed out: "for us, the market demand is very strong."

Samsung also pointed out that the flash will be the main driving force to promote the development of the company's growth and technology. In contrast, Samsung plans in 2005 to a bit of DRAM production increased by 50%.

Samsung is expected to grow faster than the overall market memory. All storage devices market is expected to decline in 2005. According to the U.S. semiconductor industry association (SIA), 2004 DRAM market growth of 61.2% in 2005 may fall 14.7%, 2006 growth in 2007 and 9.4% and 20% respectively; 2003-2007, DRAM market was $16 billion 700 million, $26 billion 900 million, $23 billion, $25 billion 100 million and $30 billion 100 million.

SIA also pointed out that the 2004 flash market growth of 34.6% in 2005 is expected to decline by 1.8%, 2006 growth in 2007 and 3.2% and 14.7% respectively; 2003-2007, flash memory market was $11 billion 700 million, $15 billion 800 million, $15 billion 500 million, $16 billion and $18 billion 300 million.
