Samsung support of Italy Telecom WiBro network deployment next year

Samsung Electronics Company has agreed to cooperate with Italy's largest telecom service operator Italia Telecom Company in Italy in 2007, will launch a mobile version of the WiMAX service WiBro.

Under the cooperation agreement, Samsung Electronics will provide Italia Telecom WiBro related technologies, and teach how to achieve WiBro high-speed broadband Internet services.

A strategic alliance agreement in late last year, the use of advanced mobile version of the WiMAX service of the two companies are Turin Dong'ao meeting.

Italia Telecom is testing the WiBro technology at the Turin Winter Olympics, and if the test is successful, the company will consider promoting WiBro wireless technology throughout Italy

Italia chairman Marco Tronchetti said Provera Telecom, Italy Telecom will test the WiBro technology in the Winter Olympics in Turin, if the test is successful, the company will consider in Italy throughout the promotion of WiBro wireless technology.

In December last year, Samsung Electronics and Venezuela mobile service provider Omnivision signed a similar cooperation agreement. The Venezuelan payment service provider will deploy WiBro network system in the third quarter of this year.

Samsung said that the cooperation agreement with Omnivision to lay the foundation for the deployment of mobile WiMAX system in the third quarter of 2006, fully integrated services will be launched at the end of this year in Caracas, the next three years will be in the other seven city of Venezuela launched.

WiBro technology jointly developed by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and KT Korea Companies. WiBro technology and WiMAX technology are based on IEEE 802.16 series of wireless broadband technology standards. Compared with the WiMax technology, the WiBro technology has a better performance in the mobile reception performance, but it is not as good as the WiMAX technology to adapt to the larger transmission range.

Although from the technical point of view, Wibro technology and WiMAX technology have two kinds of competitive technical system. But their business characteristics are similar, such as WiBro technology and WiMAX technology also has the ability to move in the state of high-speed data access.

Mobile super Wibro technology is not limited by time and place of ultra fast Internet technology. The data transmission speed of this technology is the fastest among all mobile communication technologies so far.
