In January 16, 2008, the Expo Bureau leadership once again hosted the Expo semiconductor lighting (LED) application of a special meeting, the relevant government commissioned, Ltd., Shanghai semiconductor lighting engineering research center to attend the meeting.
The meeting clearly: due to the strong point of the semiconductor lighting light, low illumination, so the bridge, park, greenbelt, shoreline stadium facade, as well as some places and logos, signs and other landscape, using semiconductor lighting; one axis and four Pavilions (refer to the Expo Axis, China Pavilion, Theme Pavilion, the Expo Center, performing arts center, city) best practice area lighting, will actively use new technology and new products Chinese to display; for channel, pedestrian street lighting, can consider to choose relatively mature and advanced new energy and new energy saving lighting, to play a leading and exemplary role.
Shanghai semiconductor lighting engineering research center, national semiconductor lighting project as Shanghai industrial base operating entity, under the leadership of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, has made positive efforts to promote the application of semiconductor lighting in the World Expo in Shanghai. In December 14, 2007 the World Expo Bureau and the Municipal Science and technology under the leadership, held by the well-known domestic and foreign experts and scholars to discuss the applications of semiconductor lighting in the World Expo in Japan, invited the chief designer of Aichi Expo site lighting Shijing dry Ms. Japan Aichi Expo lighting design and application, and received good results. Deputy Secretary General of alliance national semiconductor lighting project, Mr. Ruan Jun also attended the meeting, the application of semiconductor lighting at the Shanghai Expo in aroused great attention, the application of high-tech and energy saving will become the focus of attention.
Shanghai has ushered in the Expo as the center of a new round of urban infrastructure, venue construction and transformation of the climax. As a new kind of "green" lighting source, semiconductor lighting has been paid more and more attention to by the world.
