South Korean scientists claim to have discovered OLED efficient blue emitting materials

Recently, South Korean scientists claimed to have discovered a highly efficient true blue blue light-emitting materials, can effectively promote the next generation of light-emitting diode OLED display R & D process. Jin, who is a professor of chemistry at Pusan National University in Korea, said he led the national fund project in collaboration with the Department of engineering at the National University of Seoul.

OLED requires a blend of green, red and blue s light to display rich colors. Scientists have found efficient green and red light-emitting materials, but suffer from the lack of suitable blue light materials. South Korea as the world's largest manufacturer of liquid crystal display (LCD), has been committed to the development of more efficient OLED screen. Jin said his findings could create a more efficient OLED screen than the LCD TV, OLED can provide a wider perspective, better color, while lower energy consumption.
