Standard Committee LED light source products will have national standards

Not long ago, held in Beijing in 2008 LED outdoor public lighting technology standards seminar, representatives of the national standardization management committee revealed that at present the National Standardization Management Committee has been established to carry out the 11 national LED lighting standards work, it must be reported to the Standards Committee during the year.

As a new kind of lighting products, LED light source and lamps are more and more popular in lighting engineering in recent years. However, due to the lack of relevant standards, L ED lighting products are many, but the quality is uneven. Zheng Guoan, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of science and technology of China, pointed out that China has a huge market for lighting and a strong industrial base for lighting. It is one of the major producers and exporters of electric light sources and lighting appliances in the world. The application of LED light source in road lighting has become a hot topic in the semiconductor lighting industry in recent years, both at home and abroad has more than 100 enterprises into the development of semiconductor lamps, but have not yet been put into mass production, in addition to technology breakthroughs, lack of product standards is one of the main factors which restrict the large-scale application of LED street lamp. He hoped that through the efforts of the government and industry to promote the study and application of LED public lighting standards.

There are 13 experts and scholars and more than 200 representatives from both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated in the seminar.
