Constant current drive to achieve high performance dimming
The day before, TI (TI) in the European Lighting Technology Strategy Conference (the Strategies in Light Europe Conference) announced the launch of two highly integrated phase adjustable optical AC/DC LED lighting driver LM3448 and TPS92070, which is suitable for residential, commercial and industrial buildings, the application of solid state lighting, light bulb, ballast, LED meet the modified lamp and the spotlight lighting demand.
TI demonstrated LM3448 and TPS92070 at the European Lighting Technology Strategy Conference (Booth No. 222 and No. 224) from October 4th to 6 in Italy. Lighting technology strategy conference is one of the major industry activities in the global LED and lighting industry.
NS LM3448 adaptive constant turn off time AC/DC constant current LED regulator integrated 600 V MOSFET, and optimized for 2 W to 8 W dimmable LED lighting driver. TPS92070 flyback AC/DC constant current LED driver controller optimized for 6 W to 20 W dimmable LED driver. These two products are supported by thermal shutdown, VCC undervoltage lockout, periodic peak current limit and LED open circuit protection and other functions.
Main characteristics and advantages of LM3448
- requirements apply to the low number of components, high performance dimmable LED driver integrated LED lamp;
- includes phase angle dimming decoder compatible with advanced TRIAC and trailing edge electronic dimmer, support the full range of LED dimming;
- Integrated 600 V electron avalanche protection, high voltage and low on resistance MOSFET in improving LED drive efficiency and reduce the design complexity;
- according to buck, flyback or buck boost topology for isolated and non isolated solutions using active or passive (valley fill) power factor correction (PFC) circuit.
Main characteristics and advantages of TPS92070
- Senior TRIAC dimmer circuit management not only accurately decoding dimmer conduction angle, but also generate index LED current configuration file good support, dimming performance and consistency of LED high efficiency light output;
- for dimming the valley switching and strictly LED current regulation (driver error less than 5%) were optimized;
Two - innovative side feedback can cancel the optical coupler and fault isolation amplifier design, in improving the safety and reliability at the same time, reduce the size, reduce the cost;
- according to the flyback topology for isolated and non isolated solutions that enable designers to flexibly according to the size, cost and management requirements to optimize the external component selection;
- detect the presence of TRIAC, disable external PFC function (fill valley or active), improve the dimming performance.
