The day before, TI (TI) announced the launch of three new DC/DC LED drive, which can be in the professional indoor and outdoor LED lighting applications for high color rendering and ultra low light simplified white adjustment. TPS92660 two series LED driver with TPS92640/1 synchronous buck controller can solve the accurate color facing designers to create high quality lighting engine and brightness control lighting challenges, to fully meet the construction and retail display and other commercial area lighting, LED projection system and vehicle lamp should be in demand.
TPS92660 is a 80V input voltage, two series LED driver, which contains a DC/DC buck regulator and a linear channel that can be implemented as a normally white plus red dual color LED hybrid. The use of I2C interface and one-time programmable ROM, white color lighting equipment manufacturers relatively accurate lighting equipment in the production process (CCT) and brightness, provide special quality for area, lumen retail and architectural lighting. This color adjustment method does not require expensive LED, can reduce the cost of the system. Analog or pulse width modulation (PWM) input signal can be used for ROM programming brightness and color adjustment.
TPS92640 and TPS92641 is the industry-leading 85V input voltage, contrast adjustable frequency synchronous buck DC/DC LED controller, which provides smooth dimming mode inside and outside the room area lighting and LED projector required. These two controllers accept analog and PWM inputs, respectively, to support the dimming ratio of 500:1 and 2500:1. Continuous conduction mode can maintain the degree of light, so that the TPS92640/1 can provide a true simulation of "zeroing" function. TPS92641 adds an input and an output pin that supports 20000:1 shunt shunt FET dimming.
For intelligent lighting systems, TPS92660 and TPS92640/1 can be matched with the TI 16 bit ultra low power MSP430 microcontroller to achieve dimming control.
TPS92660 and TPS92640/1 belong to TI rich LED driver product series, the series includes DC/DC LED and LM3421/3/4 driver LM3409, TPS92551, AC/DC, LED, LM3447 and TPS92310/11/14 driver TPS92075.

O is used to regulate the white CCT and lumen output of the I2C with an on - going duration programmable ROM without the need to select LED;

TPS92640/1 Synchronous Buck Controller
O simulation, PWM and shunt FET dimming support 500:1, 2500:1 and 20000:1 contrast;
O 7 to 85V wide input voltage for a variety of LED series voltage;
Synchronous continuous conduction mode, constant current output and simple compensation scheme can not only provide high system efficiency, but also simplify circuit design.

Using the 20 pin PowerPad, 14 pin PowerPad TSSOP TM TSSOP and 16 pin PowerPad TSSOP package TPS92660, TPS92640 and TPS92641 are currently already available in volume, can be ordered through TI and its authorized distributor.
