The State Council held a meeting to eliminate inefficient energy-saving lighting products on schedule

The meeting pointed out that with the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization, energy supply constraints have become an important factor restricting economic and social development. At the same time, China's energy consumption is unreasonable, inefficient use of the situation is still serious, the state organs, enterprises and institutions, large public buildings, city landscape and household electricity etc. there are many waste, saving potential. To solve China's energy problems, we must adhere to the principle of conservation and development simultaneously, saving the priority, the fuel saving work in a more prominent position.

The meeting stressed the need to focus, grasp the key areas of lighting, automobiles, boilers, electrical systems, air conditioning, wide application potential, quick, take comprehensive measures, to form an effective incentive mechanism, improve energy efficiency greatly. Among them, do a good job of lighting electricity, the need to increase the efficiency of the promotion of efficient lighting products, the next two years, large and medium-sized city government agencies, urban road lighting, hotels, restaurants, public places, all out of inefficient lighting products.

The meeting decided to carry out national energy saving action, including the control of street lamps and landscape lighting, the use of energy-saving products, such as ten initiatives. The meeting called for the state organs, institutions and organizations and other public institutions to take the lead in energy conservation.

June 2007, according to the spirit of the executive meeting of the State Council, the civil building energy conservation regulations (Draft) to the public, extensive comments. The revised draft to further clarify the scope of civil building energy efficiency standards, the provisions of the existing building energy-saving principles, requirements, scope and office building energy-saving procedures and requirements, emphasis on countries to promote the use of new energy-saving technologies, new processes, new materials and new equipment, technology, technology, materials and equipment use limit or prohibit the use of high energy consumption, and provides the corresponding legal responsibility.

The meeting decided that the bill will be promulgated by the State Council after further modification.
