The United States is scheduled for February 17th 09 completed before the conversion of digital TV

House lawmakers Monday morning passed a bill, the bill will be set in February 17, 2009 to complete the last days to digital TV broadcasting.

According to the bill, the government will allocate $1 billion 500 million to help analog TV users to buy the signal conversion box, so that they can also get the services provided by the digital age.

Full use of digital broadcasting will release some of the scarce radio spectrum, some of which will be used for the fire and police departments and other emergency communications capabilities, the rest of the band will be auctioned by the government, the auction is expected to reach $10 billion in revenues, while private estimates were higher.

The House bill will also set aside $10 budget for the upgrading of the communications system of public security agencies.
