The cost of LED screen notebook gradually reduced at the end of 15%

LED backlight because it has lower power consumption and higher brightness and become the future development trend of notebook display backlight technology. At present, has been used in some portable notebook LED backlight LCD screen. Industry data show that due to the reduction of the cost gap between LED backlight and cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL), by the end of this year, the use of LED backlit LCD screen laptop will account for 15% of the total.

Taiwan Optoelectronic Technology Industry Association says that for a 12 inch notebook, a cold cathode fluorescent lamp plate thickness of 3.07 mm thickness of the cost is $15, and the cost of LED plate thickness of 1.9 mm for $25 in the first quarter of this year, which is roughly 1.6 times the cost. By the end of this year, the gap will be reduced to 1.2-1.3 times.

LED industry leading enterprises, the advantages of high brightness LED backlight, LED backlight and LCD manufacturers increased demand of the light guide plate, the use of LED backlight notebook will increase, while the number of LED backlight products will start to rise from the two quarter of this year. The industry analysis is clearly pointed out, as long as the cost of LED backlight down to 1.5 times less than the cost of cold cathode fluorescent lamp, the number of LED backlight notebook will be significantly higher.

At present, Taiwan LED backlight LCD manufacturers will be Japan as the largest LED backlight LCD market demand.
