The global semiconductor production equipment supply volume 06 years Q2 an increase of 27%

SEMI (semiconductor equipment and Materials International) report shows that the second quarter of 2006 (April to June) the global semiconductor production equipment supply amounted to $9 billion 590 million. Growth of 27% over the previous year, an increase of 0.2% over the previous quarter, steady growth. From the supply of various regions, the Chinese market grew 193% over the same period last year, an increase of 83% over the previous quarter, showing an unusually rapid growth momentum. 2006 second quarter global semiconductor production equipment orders amounted to $11 billion 530 million, an increase of 60% over the same period last year, an increase of 23% over the previous quarter.

SEMI president and CEO Stanley Myers on the 2 quarter review, said: "the supply of goods in the second quarter of 2006 continued to maintain good momentum, the highest since the 2001 quarter record."
