The world's first OLED TV next month listed in Japan

The world's first OLED TV from SONY XEL-1 will begin to appear in the Japanese market in December, asking price 200 thousand yen, equivalent to about RMB 13 thousand yuan.

XEL-1 size 287 x 256 x 140 mm, the thinnest place is only about 3 mm, the weight is only 2 kg, the other resolution of 960 x 540, contrast 1000000:1. On the base of the metal bracket, XEL-1 provides HDMI, USB, Ethernet interface and satellite tuner.

Compared to LCD and PDP TV, OLED TV will bring more small volume, wider viewing angle, faster response time, longer life, lower power consumption, better contrast and color performance, is the focus of the direction of technological development shows the future.

However, OLED technology also has some shortcomings, such as size, not too big, not like the feeling of home theater like LCD and PDP TV, and OLED materials will degrade with the passage of time, the long-term use effect, but SONY claims that XEL-1 use eight hours a day if you can persist for 10 years, in other words the the service life of up to 30000 hours.
