The LED seat is equipped with a number of pressure sensors, each with an insulating film sandwiched between two electrode layers made of conductive silica gel. By measuring the user's weight distribution, these sensors can determine whether the posture of people is Ergonomics - more specifically, it can detect whether the user is sitting in the wrong angle or holding a pose for too long.

The data is transmitted wirelessly to a computer or mobile device, processed by a supporting application, and then transferred back to the seat. It responds by lighting some colors of LED to let users know what changes they need to make.

Then, the user can see the video that explains the problem through the application and the advice on how to correct the problem. The application can also guide users to conduct exercises aimed at alleviating problems caused by inappropriate postures and testing them correctly by sensors.

The researchers are now demonstrating the system on the MS Wissenschaft exhibition ship in Germany. The researchers believe that the technology can also be integrated into more practical applications, such as ground pads or office chairs.
