Day ago, teralane semiconductor and ZTE microelectronics reached a cooperation agreement, will cooperate in the development of COLOR TFT LCD color display driver chip.

ZTE is one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in China, with an annual output of 16 million mobile phones, ZTE microelectronics is its subsidiary company; Tianli semiconductor is mainly engaged in the development of digital mixed chip. According to the agreement, the project adopts the advanced manufacturing technology of 0.18 micron high voltage process, the two sides exchange engineer, interoperability related equipment and technology and commitment to product development successful production procurement etc.. The chip is mainly used in mobile phones, MP3, MP4 and other handheld devices.

ZTE microelectronics general manager Guo Changsong said: "this cooperation is the second cooperation between the two sides, the two sides have had successful cooperation in 128 * 160 262K COLOR CSTN chip project, and the chip has now entered into the production stage".

TFT LCD LCD driver chip is widely used in computer LCD monitors, notebook computers, LCD TV, portable DVD, mobile phones, MP3, MP4 and other electronic consumer products. Teralane semiconductor CEO Lin Xin said: "at present, the cooperation is only applied in ZTE tianlihe drive chip small size liquid crystal display area. Tianli has started the application of large and medium size LCD driver chip project, I believe the future prospects of cooperation."
