U.S. energy board released on the LED optical security specifications

The specification summarizes existing knowledge in this field and discusses the existing standards for the safety of photo organisms. One of the most important optical safety concerns about LED is the "blue light hazard" (bluelighthazard), which is caused by prolonged exposure to light in the blue and violet spectrum of the human retina.

One of the most important optical safety concerns for LED is the "blue light hazard" (bluelighthazard), which is caused by prolonged exposure to light in the blue and purple spectral range of the retinal damage to the human eye.

However, as described in the new situation, in the same color temperature, compared with other types of common light source, clean white LED does not produce more blue light hazards.

According to the existing international standards, white building lighting products in general, is not considered to be a blue light hazard.
