DSM engineering plastics company (DSMEngineeringPlastics) announced the launch of Stanyl? LED1551, which is used for plastic chip carrier package in high brightness LED (PLCC) of the new Stanyl series of products. These LED are used in mobile phones, PDA, laptops and handheld devices in the backlit LCD display.

StanylLED1551 is a kind of material which can provide high brightness and best reflection in mobile phone, handheld device and notebook high temperature and high humidity environment. In addition, due to the excellent thermal performance of Stanyl, it can also be used in the three welding cycle at a maximum of 260 degrees, and can be bonded with a silicon wafer or epoxy resin used in the package. Compared with the traditional PPA resin, the material can be recycled quickly to improve the yield. At the same time, the inherent high mobility ensures that the side view of the LED is filled with a cavity up to 220 cavities, and has a minimum number of cycles. Adhesion between silicon and epoxy resin is still excellent. These materials have the best reflection retention rate in UV exposure to 250nm. The current wavelength of blue LED chip is 460nm, but the future development trend of UV chip wavelength is 350nm.
