Wuhu to accelerate the construction of LED semiconductor lighting applications

Since last year, among the country "ten city lights" pilot city, Wuhu City, actively carry out pilot work, to speed up the LED semiconductor lighting engineering construction, completed in the number of applications at the same time, the pursuit of quality and efficiency in the use of the application, to promote the city's green lighting and energy-saving emission reduction work has played a positive role in promoting.

To promote energy conservation, reduce energy consumption, the State Ministry of science and Technology launched the first batch of "ten city lights" pilot work in 2009, in the semiconductor lighting engineering implementation of Tianjin city in 21, to promote the application of LED road lighting, LED lighting industry to accelerate the upgrade. In May 2011, the Ministry of science and technology announced the second batch of "ten city lights" semiconductor lighting engineering demonstration pilot city, my city and Hefei city among them, become the semiconductor lighting application engineering Guozihao pilot city.

In recent years, Wuhu city actively introduce LED production enterprises and the application of LED lighting, in 2010 the successful introduction of LED production enterprises -- Anhui Sanan optoelectronics, in Wuhu set up a wholly owned subsidiary, the project total investment of 12 billion yuan. The same year, well-known photoelectric enterprises Elec-Tech and settled in Wuhu, a total investment of 6 billion yuan. Two after the completion of the project will become the country's largest photovoltaic industry base, world-class products with independent intellectual property rights, will cover LED, middle and lower reaches of the whole industrial chain, social and economic benefits of the project will be effective.

According to incomplete statistics, as of the end of last year, Wuhu has installed a total of 35799 street lamps to replace LED, accounting for the city's existing street lights of 72.5%.
