A new generation of lighting design competition announced the winners list

The Strategies in Light exhibition held at the Santa Clara in California City, on the morning of February 18, 2009 announced the first year of a new generation of lighting design competition (Next Generation Luminaires (TM) competition) winners.

The award has been certified as an excellent design for energy saving LED general lighting, which refers to the use of white light in commercial lighting applications.

The May 2008 International Lighting Exhibition (LightFair) design contest is sponsored by the US Department of energy (DOE), Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) and the International Association of lighting designers (IALD) sponsored, attracted 68 entries from 29 home lighting company.

Of the 68 entries in the competition, the 22 received special certification for the listing of products, of which three were rated as "best class (best in)"". In the emerging product categories, the selected 5 products worthy of attention.

Winona Lighting's LED16 floodlight lamps also received 19 of the listed class "certification" of the title of one of the. GE Lighting company building recessed notch lighting (Cove Lighting) certification. PHILPS Color Kinetics three eW Powercore products, including: ceiling lamps, cabinet lamps and linear groove mouth lights, also received certification.

Certified products are: Specialty Lighting Industries, Gallium Lighting, LLC Lightolier, Amerlux Lighting and Solutions CREE designed MP Lighting light guide lamp; design and Amerlux two companies; Tech Lighting offers 40 different types of LED suspension (LED pendant fixture) lamps; high intensity discharge lamp Albeo Technologies Inc.; and Cree's design worthy of attention high efficiency 24 inch square ceiling lamp and LED linear lamp cabinet.

Five "new" products are concerned, there are two products are not listed, including two from the GO Lighting technology products: one is the circular ceiling lamps of 24 inches, the other is LED linear suspension type lamp 4 inch downlight, Ledion and Lighting, linear suspension type lamp Beta Lighting company, Lighting company and Winona underwater lights.

These awards were announced on February 18, 2009 -20 at the Strategies in Light show in California. The aim of the competition is to identify the design, energy saving and attractive commercial semiconductor lighting, the semiconductor lighting using some standard current incandescent lamp, halogen lamp and high-intensity discharge lamps. By encouraging new designs and technologies, a new generation of lighting design competition aims to enhance the acceptance and recognition of the LED general lighting market.
