Recently, iWatt released its 32 column LED control LED driver IC "iW7032" products, mainly used for driving LCD TV backlight light source.
IW7032 by increasing the LED column and the integrated MOSFET control components, (BOM:bill of materials) cost more than the original LED driver IC is reduced. The maximum supply voltage of each column LED is 56V. Each column can be connected in series about 15 LED, so iW7032 can drive a total of 480 LED. When the forward voltage (Vf) varies with LED, it also has the function of automatically adjusting the supply voltage to the LED column. In this way, each iW7032 power consumption can be reduced by 2 ~ 5W.
IW3072 in addition, there are three real-time control LED brightness mode. Among them, the "Local Dimming" mode, can be used in the video content of the dark image, reduce the brightness of the backlight light source LED; 3D mode specifically for three-dimensional (3D) TV; "Scanning" mode, can reduce flicker, etc..
LED driver IC "iW7032" products, compared to the previous LED driver IC compared with use of 1 LED driver IC can be completed; the iW7032 built-in MOSFET, without external MOSFET; import MOSFET heat treatment technology alone "(iWatt). In addition, the use of 1 iW7032, BOM can be reduced by 1 to $3, while the module printed substrate area can be reduced by half.
