Displaybank:2010 large-size LCD panel demand is expected to increase by 12%

According to Displaybank's report, in 2010 the demand for large-size TFT-LCD panel is expected to increase, unit shipments will grow by 12%, in terms of the regional market, shipments will grow by 19%.

In 2010, the mature market will see the LCD display panel shipments increased, an increase of only 3%, however, because the market for netbooks and high demand for desktop replacement is increasing, therefore, the notebook PC panel market is expected to grow 19%.

The research company said that South Korea's LG Display, Taiwan CMO (CMO) Alfa (IPS Alpha) and Japan are planning eight new production lines of LCD generation panel plant, but the mainland jingdongfang Technology (BOE Technology) production line planning new six generation LCD panel factory.

As a result of the new eight generation LCD panel production line increases, therefore, the overall supply capacity of large-size panels will increase by 22%.
