"Heat sink small" OSRAM disclosed headlights white LED

OSRAM LED (OSRAM) GmbH (Opto Semiconductors) in the "CEATEC JAPAN 2006" on the demonstration of the car headlights for white light-emitting diode module (Figure 1). Each white LED module is capable of emitting 300lm beams.

The company used to have the same brightness of the white LED module, but this is installed on the back of the module for the heat sink is much smaller than in the past (Figure 2). "Because of the increase of luminous efficiency, the heat loss is reduced" (field commentator). The luminous efficiency is 30 ~ 40lm/W.

Figure 1: demonstration of white LED Figure 2: comparison of heat sinks at the show. For the display of goods, for next year's display items. The size of the heat sink this time a small white LED yellow fluorescent material is combined with the blue chip LED. The module is connected in series with 6 chips, and the input current is 350mA. The blue LED chip used is the OSRAM photoelectric called "ThinGaN" variety. ThinGaN can be more than 97% of the amount of light transmitted from the surface of the chip, with the lens to facilitate the use of light control characteristics.
