Hitachi successfully developed new technology for LCD TV image display panel

Hitachi display and Hitachi made the day before to develop a technology which can improve the display performance of "Flexible Business Intelligent LCD panel image, Flexible BI". This technique increases the refresh rate of the panel from the previous 60Hz to 120Hz, and inserts a black screen to control the brightness of the displayed image.

The two companies had been in the refresh rate of 60Hz between the panels of the frame inserted between 20% ~ 30% of the black screen, through the simulated pulse refresh rate to reduce image retention. However, this approach will produce a decrease in brightness (or increase in power consumption) problem. To solve this problem, the new technology can not reduce the brightness / power consumption performance, and to reduce the image being stranded before "(Hitachi display).

In this way, the 1 frame (60Hz) image data is divided into two parts. One is to control the data more brightly than the original image. The other is darker than the original image. The two parts of the image data in the 120Hz refresh rate on the panel display, resulting in between 1 frames (60Hz) made of 1 images. When the two part of the image data is combined, the time integral is controlled to maintain the same brightness. Each part of the image data is not with the backlight, but through the signal level adjustment to control "(Hitachi display), has no effect on brightness / power consumption performance.
