IM Flash accelerated competition third 300 mm factory?

Shortly before IM Flash debut, first launched 50 nm NAND flash sample. According to analysts, Intel and micron joint the NAND flash IM Flash soon after, will build a new 300mm plant, to keep up with competitors.

Micron (Micron) is currently using in the Idaho Boise factory supply NAND flash to IM Flash. Virginia Manassas, 300mm micron in the factory will be put into operation later this year, will also be IM to Flash NAND Supply Flash memory. The 300mm plant in Utah, Lehi will be specifically designed to meet the needs of IM Flash, and as the headquarters of IM Flash. The plant is expected to begin production of NAND flash memory early next year.

Another factory has been brewing for some time, it is regarded as the third IM Flash plant. American Technology analyst Doug Freedman, said: we can expect that the next months will be published on the site of these third plant statement 3-4."

Freedman said Manassas micron factory weekly production will rise to 25000 wafers, and Lehi factory production capacity will reach 50000 wafers per week. However, IM Flash still need to continue to expand production capacity, and there are good reasons. Rivals such as Samsung and Toshiba-SanDisk are expanding capacity. Freedman pointed out that "mass production has been 90 micron nano MLC, nano MLC 72 is in the phase of the sample, and is expected by the end of 2006 to the beginning of 2007 shipments."
