Israel Corp Oree announced the development of flat fiber

Announced that Israeli start-ups Oree, is developing a flexible flat fiber, allegedly to replace the existing TV and mobile phone backlight unit in. The company claims to achieve better brightness, lower power consumption, and can be made into almost any shape. Oree uses a different structure in the isolation of the LCD plastic layer of the display module, the LED is placed in a new location, and a unique method is used to disperse the light in the plastic. Firstly, the three layer optical fiber device is used for light scattering of thin plate. The position of LED is parallel to the plate, not behind it. Most importantly, LED is placed between the plates, not the sheet. As a result, the light only needs to penetrate a layer (between the LED and the metal coating) to reduce the energy consumption by nearly half. Oree is considering placing LED directly between the sheets, thereby further reducing power consumption. The LED is installed in the thin plate, which reduces the amount of LED, reduces the energy consumption, and can be used for making a thinner screen. Another advantage of optical fiber is softness. LED is placed in the optical fiber device, and the average light scattering, does not depend on the angle of LED. Thus, the LED can be folded or curled, still can scatter light. Oree said the technology can create any shape of the LCD screen, including the screen can be placed on the clothes. Oree said the company plans to produce a Fine component, manufacturers need to be installed in the production screen, without the need for additional design.
