Japan NEDO announced more than 40 inches OLED display production project winning enterprises

Japan NEDO technology development institutions (Independent Administrative Corporation of new energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) officially announced in July 10, 2008, has identified 2008 "a new generation of large OLED Display Technology Development Foundation (green IT)" commissioned by the enterprise. We will strive to develop more than 40 inches OLED display production technology from 2015 to 2020.

The project commissioned units include: planning SONY, Toshiba Matsushita display technology, SHARP, Sumitomo, chemistry, Idemitsu Independent Administrative Corporation Industrial Technology Research Institute, state industry, JSR, SHIMADZU, Dainippon screen manufacturing, Hitachi shipbuilding and the agencies to a total of 10 companies and 1 groups.

"The next generation of large OLED display basic technology development" project will be implemented from 2008 to in the past 5 years, although the average annual operating costs have not yet been finalized, but is estimated to be about 700 million yen. The goal is to make the full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) panel to achieve low power consumption power consumption less than 40W, and developed the sixth generation (plate size 1500mm * 1850mm) above the floor of the following 3 basic production technology. The utility model is characterized in that: (1) the utility model is suitable for the material technology and the manufacturing technology of the large area forming electrode with small organic film damage, (2) large area transparent packaging technology, (3) large area organic membrane technology. The project was conducted between April 11, 2008 and May 20th.
