LED backlight surface experts predict popularity to 2015

According to the survey data released in July 30th this year, flat-panel display professional research firm DisplaySearch shows that despite the recent LED backlight market grew rapidly, however, LED backlight should become the mainstream market size (market share of more than 50%) may have to wait until 2015.

However, although the price has dropped a lot compared to 2008, but the display device, the use of LED backlight will increase the cost. Depending on the quality of display requirements, a liquid crystal display requires dozens of LED as a backlight, cost about $30~60, while the cost of using CCFL is about $10. Since most of the cost of the display comes from the LCD panel, the company's profit margins have been less than $100, so the cost of a few dozen dollars to enhance the impact of the display is great. Therefore, Samsung and other manufacturers are also actively developing lower cost side LED backlight module. In addition, LED backlight products also need to re design the mold, which is also an important factor affecting its promotion.
